PURPOSE:To obtain a gas discharge display inexpensively with excellent quality by disposing partitions, which are formed perpendicularly to cathode electrodes and separate the cathode electrodes into respective discharge cells, on the cathode electrodes formed on a base glass and forming gaps between a wind glass and the partitions. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of cathode electrodes 12 are formed on a base glass 11, and partitions 13, which are formed perpendicularly to the electrodes 12 and separate the electrodes 12 into respective discharge cells so as to provide spaces for the discharge cells, are disposed on the electrodes. A black mask 22 to conceal scanning lines is disposed on the rear surface of a wind glass 21. An anode electrode 24 is formed on the rear surface of the black mask, together with an anode electrode 23 for the display cells disposed in parallel with the electrode 24. Peripheries of the wind glass 21 and the base glass 11 are sealed with a sealing glass 25, and the inside gas is substituted for an inert gas. Besides, gaps are formed between the wind glass 21 and the partitions 13, and electrons and ions generated by discharge of the scanning cells are dispersed inside the display cells so as to promote discharging operations. |
