NEW MATERIAL:A fluorine-containing phenethyl alcohol derivative expressed by formula I. USE:Useful as a surface modifier for polymer, sliding agent, raw material for functional polymer, etc. The aimed compound is not solidified till nearly 0 deg.C, has broad usable range at low temperature, be readily soluble in many organic solvents such as halogen and alcohol and further has high viscosity. PREPARATION:Hydroxy-methylphenetyl alcohol expressed by formula II is reacted with perfluorononene C9F18 in a nonaqueous solvent such as acetonitrile or N,N-dimethylformamide in the presence of a basic catalyst such as triethylamine or anhydrous potassium carbonate at -20-4 deg.C, preferably 0-10 deg.C to provide the compound expressed by formula I. Reaction mole ratio of the compound expressed by formula 11 to perfluorononene is normally 1/1-1/2, preferably 1/1.2-1/1.5. The basic catalyst is preferably used at nearly equivalent amount to perfluorononene. |
