PURPOSE:To reduce the load of a processor and to increase the processing speed, by providing key information not relating to a command processing operation as a part of controlling parameter information from a processor. CONSTITUTION:In transmitting command information and controlling parameter information from a processor 1 to a disc controller 2', key information not relating to the command processing operation as a part of parameter information is stored in a key information storage area 10 in a result status register 5' without referencing or using as commond processing operating information and reported to the processor 1 by adding the key information to a result status. Thus, when a plurality of controllers 2' and magnetic discs 7, 7' are used, since the device number can be known from the key information by using the set number information of discs controlled by the processor 1 as the key information, no managing table is required and no corresponding program is necessary, allowing to quicken the processing. |
