For the production of liquid packages, a composite web is produced continuously, which consists of a support web of fibre material and of at least one laminated thermoplastic film. In the process, the support web is heated separately before the lamination. The aim is for the lamination of the plastic film web to be possible without distortion and wrinkling of the support web. For this purpose, the cold thermoplastic film (9) is briefly pressed and tacked on to the support web after the heating of the support web (4). Then the application of heat and pressure is briefly removed. Subsequently the tacked composite web (4, 9) is heated through until complete welding of the film (9) to the support web (4). <IMAGE>
