A roll stand has a roll housing (1) in which is mounted a pair (2) of rolls, the rolling shafts (3) of which are connected by couplings (22) to a pinion gearing (15), the couplings (22) comprising parts (23, 24, 25) which can be pulled apart. In order to provide a quick-change stand of simple, space-saving construction for rolls supported and adjustable on both sides, the roll housing (1) adjoins the cover-less pinion gearing (15) in a sealed manner, a downwardly open bearing jaw (18) is provided on the roll housing side and a bearing journal (19) is provided on the gearing side, which bearing jaw, seated on the bearing journal, forms a swivel bearing for swivelling the roll housing (1), the roll housing (1) is attached to the pinion gearing (15) by means of rapid-clamping devices (20), an Oldham coupling (22) is used as the coupling for the drive connection between the rolling shafts (3) and the gearing (15), and the two end walls (8, 9) of the roll housing (1) each accommodate in rotatably adjustable fashion a pair of eccentric bearing bushes (6, 7), meshing with one another via external gear rims (11), for the rolling-shaft bearings (4, 5) supporting the rolls (2) on both sides, which pairs (6, 7) of bearing bushes interact with pinion gears (12, 13) of a common adjusting spindle (14). <IMAGE>
