A wheel set arrangement which can be moved in the axial direction so as to rotate about a vertical axis is constructed in the vehicle frame or bogie frame of a rail vehicle in such a way that, given a transverse deflection, the wheel set is steered counter to the direction of the force acting on the wheel set via the rail.
