DEVICE AND CONTROLLING METHOD FOR STRIP STEERING IN INLET SIDE OF CONTINUOUS COLD ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To perform highly accurate correction of snake motion by providing the steering rolls and bridle rolls between outlet side of a strip accumulator and inlet side of a rolling mill and installing a deflector roll between the two. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic cylinder 18 is controlled by output of a sensor 19 for detection of snake motion of a strip, and correction of snake motion of a strip in the inlet side of a rolling mill 5 is performed. Steering rolls 12 are controlled basing on the output of a sensor 20, and the position of the strip in the inlet side of the bridle rolls 3 to prevent coming off of the edge of the strip from the roll. A deflector roll 16 eliminates mutual interference between the rolls 3 and rolls 12 to stabilize their movement. A controller 21 controls pressure of the cylinder 18 basing on the output of the snake motion detecting sensor 19 and a controller 22 controls pressure of a cylinder 15 basing on the output of a snake motion detecting sensor 13.
