PURPOSE:To prevent the segregation in a steel ingot for roll in the stage of casting the steel ingot for large sized forged hardened steel rolls by rotating a mold, and charging molten steel into the mold through an immersion nozzle having an outflow port in a horizontal direction in conformity with the rotating speed of the mold. CONSTITUTION:A molding board 4, a mold 3, and a riser flask 1 adhered with riser refractories 2 are set on a rotary table 5, and the mold 3, etc. are rotated at a constant speed of 30rpm by the rotation of a rotary table 6. At the same time, while a charging nozzle 8 of which plural molten steel discharge ports 9 open in a horizontal direction is rotated at the same speed as that of the mold 3 in the same direction, molten steel 7 is charged through the ports 9. While the nozzle 8 is immersed in the molten steel, the molten steel is charged, whereby the relative speeds of the mold 3 and the molten steel 7 are made zero, and the generation of segregation in the cast steel ingot for rolls is prevented. |
