<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of scale and increase the efficiency of a shell, by a method wherein an ultrasonic oscillator is attached to the cylinder plate of the shell to project ultrasonic wave against liquid immediately before it enters a passageway between heat transfer plates. CONSTITUTION:The cylinder plate 22 of a shell 2 is provided with an opening 24 on a part of the same. The opening 24 is normally closed by a lid plate 28, attached detachably by a clamping means such as bolts or the like through an elastic gasket 26 while the lid plate can be removed at any desired time to inspect a condition in the shell 2. An ultrasonic oscillator 30 is attached to the lid plate 28. The ultrasonic oscillator converts an electric energy, supplied from an oscillator, into acoustic energy and the oscillation of the ultrasonic oscillator is propagated uniformly through fluid in the shell 2. The fluid in the shell is oscillated uniformly through the shell and, as a result, bubbles are generated in the fluid at the interface between the surface of a heat transfer plate and the fluid whereby separated scale constituents may be prevented from adhering to the surface of a heat transfer plate. Further, the shell is resonated whereby the oscillation of the fluid may be promoted.</p> |
