PURPOSE:To standardize the destaticizing current of copying paper by measuring electric potential formed by transferred copying paper, a photosensitive element, a gap between the copying paper and photosensitive element, and toner at periodically and changing a voltage to be applied to a discharging electrode according to the variation of the electric potential. CONSTITUTION:An electric potential measuring globe 3 is fitted between a transfer electrode 1 and a separation electrode 2. The electric potential between these electrodes is measured from the side of copying paper through the globe and the output voltage of a high voltage unit 6 which applies high voltage to the separation electrode is controlled by the measured electric potential through a relational operation circuit 5. Thus, the controlled differential current flowing from the separation electrode to the copying paper can be kept approximately constant independently of the variation of composite potential formed by the copying paper, a photosensitive element, a gap between the copying paper and photosensitive element, toner, etc., so that the copying paper is precisely separated from the photosensitive element and the quality of copies is prevented from being deteriorated. |
