PURPOSE:To manufacture silver powder having the particle size distribution of a small width stably, by contacting powder of silver oxide to a heat transfer oil at a specified temperature under a specified reduced pressure. CONSTITUTION:Powder of silver oxide suspended in a heat transfer oil 1 is reduced to silver powder by heating the heat transfer oil 1 added with powder of silver oxide in an atmosphere of argon gas 2 under the reduced pressure ranging 50-10<-3> Torr due to a rotary pump 7 and a diffusion pump 8 and at the range of 50-300 deg.C by an electric heater 3. The heat transfer oil is at least one kind chosen among a group composed of mineral oil, animal and vegetable oil, silicone oil, fluorocarbon oil. |
