<p>The wire connector comprises a metal plate stamped into a flat-profile hollow shape and fitted into a slot housing (8) made of an insulated material. A pivoting arm (3) rotates about a proof point (9) consisting of a short rectangular-section stub. The end of the arm has a projection (17) in a flat surface which forms the support point of a compression spring (4). The other end of the spring is lodged immovably on a similar support point (15) integral with the metal shell. The under side of the curved arm is equipped with teeth (16) which bit into the bare conductor. A groove is formed in the upper side of the arm and a screwdriver blade (8), reaching the arm through a hole (10) in the housing, can rock the arm in either direction so that a wire can be introduced or withdrawn while the spring pressure on this wire is released. Once in place, tension on the wire only results in the tightening of the grip imposed by the arm.</p> |
