PURPOSE:To improve resistance to abrasion of a connecting rod made of fiber reinforced plastics and reduce its price by burying a metallic cylinder for bearing in large and small end parts which are in contact with a crankshaft and a piston pin. CONSTITUTION:Half matallic cylinders 2a, 2b for a bearing and a metallic cylinder 3 for a bearing are buried respectively in a large end part 1a and a small end part 1b of a connecting rod for a reciprocating engine made of fiber reinforced plastics. A crankshaft and pistonpins are brought in contact with these large and small end parts 1a, 1b to improve resistance to abrasion of the connecting rod and also reduce its price. |
