<p>An apparatus for and a method of handling grown crystal ingots from a crystal-growing furnace, which apparatus and method include: lifting the crystal ingot (34) from furnace (24) into an upper crystal chamber (16), pivoting the upper chamber to one side of the furnace while supporting the ingot therein with slidable locking pins (20), raising the lower crystal chamber (40) from wheeled vehicle (36) by employing elevator mechanism (46), lowering the ingot (34) into the lower chamber where it is supported by support bars (44), lowering the lower chamber into the wheeled vehicle for transporting the hot heavy crystal with minimum damage or fracture.</p> |
