<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the thermal effect on a bearing of a roller and to maintain the durabillity, by increasing the surface temperature of a heating roller only at fixing and keeping the surface temperature lower in other periods. CONSTITUTION:In a fixing device when a heating roller 1 and a pressing roller 2 rotate in synchronizing with a recording operation, a gear 9 geared with a drive gear 11 of the roller 1 is turned. As a result, a temperature sensor senses that the surface temperature of the roller 1 is low and a current fed from a control circuit 4 to a heater 1a is increased. Thus, the heat of the heater 1a is increased and the surface temperature of the heating roller is increased. Thus, the surface temperature of the roller 1 reaches a temperature satisfying the fixing only at the fixing operation and the temperature is kept lower for other periods, allowing to reduce the thermal effect on the bearing of the roller.</p> |
