PURPOSE:To make the application of uniform Zn hot dipping only on the one side of a moving steel strip possible by forming the discharge port of a molten zinc jet nozzle into a specific shape in the stage of allowing molten Zn to collide against the bottom surface of the moving steel strip thereby plating the one side thereof with the Zn. CONSTITUTION:The molten Zn gathered in a nozzle header 3 is ejected through a nozzle discharge port 4 having a theta2 angle with respect to the horizontal to the bottom surface of a steel strip 1 moving between horizontal rolls 7 and 7. This Zn collides against the bottom surface of the strip 1, by which Zn hot dipping is effected. Here, the central part 4a of the nozzle 4 is bent at a right angle to the advancing direction of the strip 1 and both end parts 4b are bent at a theta1 angle in the direction opposite from the advancing direction of the strip 1. The end parts thereof are made to the size at which they position on the outer side of the largest plated steel strip. A splash preventing cover 6 for the molten Zn is provided, whereby the molten zinc is supplied uniformly over the entire bottom surface of the strip 1 and the contamination of the plated surface by splashes is prevented. |
