The invention relates to a packaging apparatus for introducing bags of fruit or potatoes or the like, delivered by weighing and filling stations, in a metered quantity into dispatch containers, especially cartons, and is intended to provide a packaging apparatus, by means of which an automatic packaging of bags with weighed merchandise in predetermined quantities into dispatch containers with high efficiency becomes possible. For this purpose, according to the invention, it is proposed, in a packaging apparatus, to provide, between a feed point for the empty cartons and a removal point for the filled cartons of the cartons guided on a conveyor track, a conveyor band, designed as an ascending band, for feeding the bags delivered by a weighing and filling station to the cartons, a counting head and a controllable storage flap for the bags being arranged at the discharge end of the conveyor band. <IMAGE>
