The device serves for the joining of two film webs, in particular of broad webs for magnetic tapes to leader tape films. The unit composed of a plurality of systems comprises a drum which is displaceable above a cutting and adhesive bonding table (9) and has receivers for the adhesive tape (2), the magnetic tape film (14) being cut to the corresponding length on the table (9). The unit also comprises suction tables (19, 21) with a lifting platform (13) which is located between them and has a loop chamber (22) for cutting the leader tape film (23) to length. The lifting platform is lifted into the plane of the cutting and adhesive bonding table and the two webs are adhesively bonded together by adhesive tape in an abutting manner while rolling the drum. <IMAGE>
