PURPOSE:To offset the quantity of deformation strain owing to the solidification shrinkage of an ingot without stopping the relative movement of the ingot and a mold by rotating pinch rolls in such a way as to draw the ingot and push the same alternately by means of one-way clutch mechanisms. CONSTITUTION:The revolutions of a pinch roll 3 are transmitted via an ingot 1 to a pinch roll 2, and the roll 2 is revolved in the drawing direction of an arrow E direction. A shaft 17 revolves but since it is held slipped from an outside cylinder 12, the revolutions are no longer transmitted. While an eccentric shaft 8 revolves from a bottom dead point to a top dead point, the rolls 2, 3 revolve in the drawing directions of arrows E, B. When the shaft 8 revolves from the top dead point to the bottom dead point, the outside cylinder 15 of the 2nd one- way clutch 14 revolves in the direction reverse from an arrow B shown in the figure and the cylinder 15 and the shaft 18 slip each other, and no revolutions are transmitted to the roll 3. On the other hand, the cylinder 12 of the clutch 11 is revolved in a right direction and the shaft 17 revolves in a direction D to revolve the roll 2 in the direction opposite from the direction E, thereby pushing back the ingot 1 to the upper stream. |
