PURPOSE:To record and reproduce signals of broadband with fidelity even with a part of missing of characteristics of a magnetic head, by modulating and reproducing an electric signal with a signal of spectrum characteristics close to a comb-shape recording and reproducing frequency characteristic of a magnetic head for recording and reproduction. CONSTITUTION:A broad band input signal is converted into a signal having spectrums of (e), (f) and (g) as shown in a figure with modulators 11-13. The signals are synthesized at an addition amplifier 14 and vertically recorded on a recording medium with a vertical magnetic head 15. Since the spectrums (e), (f) and (g) are respectively with the band of a magnetic head frequency characteristic, the recording can be made through the avoidance of output disable frequencies of the head. On the other hand, this magnetic signal is reproduced with the magnetic head 15 and separated into respective bands with band pass filters having the bands of (e), (f) and (g) as shown in the figure, they are demodulated, added and reproduced. |
