PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive photographing device constituted so that an optimum diaphragm value can easily be set, and also, the loads of a central controller may be reduced. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a photometry part 71 for detecting ambient brightness, etc., an LED 44 whose lighting state is changed based on the result of the photometry part 71 and a diaphragm adjusting part 76 for adjusting the photographing light quality, and the luminance of an object is measured by the photometry part 71 at a fixed cycle, and then, the obtained results are displayed by the LED 44 stepwise. The LED 44 is arranged near the diaphragm adjusting part 76, and in accordance with the lighting state of the LED 44, either of 1st punch 86C to 4th punch 86F is selected by the diaphragm adjusting part 76.
