PURPOSE:To give the corrosion inhibitory effect and the lubricating function, by forging a plank, which should be a rotation shaft, after a lubricant for press working and a corrosion inhibitor are applied to the surface of the plank to form a coating film before the press working of this plank. CONSTITUTION:A lubricant for press working and a corrosion inhibitor are applied to the surface of a plank 1 obtained by cutting a steel bar, and the plank 1 is arranged between upper and lower press molds 2 and 3. Recess parts 2a and 3a having prescribed shapes are formed in upper and lower press molds 2 and 3 respectively, and the upper press mold 2 is brought into contact with the lower press mold 3 with a required press pressure P to forge the plank 1 to semiprocessed goods 4 having a prescribed shape. A lubricant coating film containing the corrosion inhibitor is fixed to the surface of semiprocessed goods 4 strongly. Details of semiprocessed goods 4 are worked mechanically to form, for example, a helical spline 5b, a serration 5c, etc. on the surface, thus obtaining a rotation shaft 5 as complete goods. |
