In this system, a central station (I) is connected via glass fibres (II) to subscriber stations (III). These can receive television programmes, sound programmes, video telephone signals and telephone signals and transmit video telephone signals, telephone signals and various return channel signals. The invention consists of a practical implementation of such a system. In this, a composite colour video signal/colour video component signal converter and coder (2) and a device (3) for line frequency synchronisation (III) are provided in the central station (I) for television programme signals arriving from outside, whilst the subscriber stations (III) contain colour television receivers (20) for colour video component signals and colour video telephone sets (21) which transmit line-frequency-synchronised colour video component signals. <IMAGE> |
