PURPOSE:To improve the producibility of fitting on a car body by a method wherein the one end side of the roof panel is displaced lower than the other end side and fitted. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, the right side end of the holding part 17 of the fitting device 18 is displaced to locate higher than its left side end by drawing in a piston rod 10a by means of the actuation of a cylinder 10. Accordingly, the roof panel 16 is also fitted. Secondary, a piston rod 8a is stretched out by means of the actuation of a driving cylinder 8. Consequently, the roof panel 16 is lowered together with an elevating frame 6 so as to engage the left side end of the panel 16 with the left side upper end of a car body structure 19 or with the one roof side rail 22 of roof side rails 22 and 24. Thirdly, the piston rod 10a is stretched out by means of the actuation of the cylinder 10 so as to oscillate the panel 16 together with the holding part 17 in order to temporarily engage the right side end with the upper side part of the rail 24 and, after that, to engage the right side end with the base end of a roof drip 2 by lowering the right side end along a slant face 24a. |
