PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of assembling the panels and shadow masks of cathode-ray tubes of plural types by a method wherein a panel-locating mechanism, a mechanism for locating and assembling masks of plural types and a mechanism for carrying out the assemblies are provided around the central axis of a base and furthermore the same number of mechanism for holding the panels as that of the aforementioned mechanisms are provided. CONSTITUTION:A carrier 3 for sending in panels, with a mechanism for locating panels and masks, first and second carriers 4, 5 for sending in masks, and a carrier 6 for taking out assemblies are placed at equal spaces on a 90 deg. basis around the central axis of a horizontal base 2 of an apparatus 1 for assembling. In addition, a rotary shaft 11 is provided across the central axis of the base 2 and a horizontal cam 12 is provided in the upper portion of the shaft on a 90 deg. basis, while mechanisms 13 for holding the panels consisting of the same number of vacuum cups as that of mechanisms 7-10 are provided at the ends of the rotary cams in the upper positions of the mechanisms, respectively. With this arrangement, the panels and masks of plural types cab be assembled by one unit of the apparatus of assembling and thus the efficiency of assembling the above-mentioned parts can be improved. |
