A rechargeable mechanical energy store drives (via a locking pawl control device) a drive shaft which is connected (via an oscillating fork eccentric) to a control shaft which (via a two-stage coupling device) operates a three-stage medium-voltage switch in such a manner that the switch moves into the centre position in one of the two extreme positions of the oscillating fork eccentric, and into one or other of the limit positions in the other extreme position, depending on the selected coupling stage. <IMAGE>
