The invention relates to an internal combustion engine comprising an annular case, the ends of which are joined to form a continuous, circular cavity. A curved piston moves through the aforementioned cavity. The engine contains a gate which, together with the piston, divides the case into two chambers. One of said chambers is used for deflagration, while the other chamber is used for the simultaneous expulsion of the burnt gases. The piston is designed to operate the gate automatically. The movement of the piston can be transferred to the exterior using mechanical means or magnetic fields.
