A dead-man switch having a dead-man lever, supported such that it can pivot about a pivoting axis, for operating a switch key. The technical problem is to permit switching on only once after each unlocking. A projection (9) on the dead-man lever (5) has an end limb (10), aligned on a circumferential curve with respect to the pivoting axis (4), having a chamber (11) in radial alignment with respect to the pivoting axis (4). An unlocking key (15), stressed by a restoring spring (19), has a slide (17) which is aligned radially onto the pivoting axis (4) and the chamber (11), and can engage with a tab (21) into the chamber (11).
