PURPOSE:To protect the tapered shank part of a tool from a chip and cutting water during cutting and maintain accuracy of the cutting, by equipping a subpot, containable with a tool, to a pot arm and mounting the pot arm to a tool exchanger itself. CONSTITUTION:One end of a screw shaft 6 is fitted and rotatably supported to the center part of a twin arm 2 having a pair of tool holding parts 2a. A pot arm 22 is arranged to a rear side of the arm 2 and supported to the front end part of a housing 16 through a cover 24. A subpot 22a is formed to an end part of the arm 22, and a tool can be housed in the pot 22a. When the arm 2 is at its retreat end and indexed to a tool holding position to hold the tool, if pressure oil is fed to a cylinder chamber 21a, a clamping pawl 2e is applied with thrust to perform clamping action. Until the tool, held to a spindle, finishes machining, another tool is housed in the pot 22a. |
