PURPOSE:To pass through a strip stably, by passing through it, changing a profile of a hearth roll in accordance with a shape of the strip, a plate crown, a work, and generation of heat buckling. CONSTITUTION:A profile variable hearth roll 19 which is capable of changing a roll profile is provided on a heating zone 10, a soaking zone 11, a primary cooling zone 12, an over-aging zone 13 and a secondary cooling zone 14. For instance, a strip 1 is worked, and when it becomes necessary to change the roll profile into the direction where a roll crown is large, in order to correct said work, high temperature gas is fed to a center space part 23 from an air passage 27, low temperature gas is fed to an end space part 25 from an air passage 29, and intermediate temperature gas is fed to a center space part 24 from an air passage 28. By this operation, the roll crown of the profile variable hearth roll 19 becomes large, and the work is corrected. |
