The arrangement is intended for treating sticky particles with a plastic consistency such as artificial gravel, fertiliser pellets etc. in a continuous process to harden them by direct or indirect application of a drying and/or treating medium. The particles pass under gravity through a treating chamber provided with partitions which are arranged such that the particles are sub-divided into shallow stacks to limit the pressure exerted on the particles by their weight. Used for treating and/or drying sticky pellets etc with plastic consistency in continuous process to harden and/or dry them. The arrangement prevents agglomeration and crushing of sticky particles under their own weight during treatment.
