Use of calcium chloride to remove moisture from air frequently results in the formation of a supersaturated solution with occasional recrystallisation. By the supporting the CaCl2 on a porous non-absorbent layer, any supersaturated CaCl2 solution may pass through the support materials into a porous underlayer where it remains, continuing to absorb moisture from the atmosphere. Process is used for the removal of moisture from ambient air.
|
