An initial driving current stress reduction circuit for a boost input-type converter is provided to minimize a dark current and power consumption in normal operation of the boost input-type converter. An initial driving current stress reduction circuit for a boost input-type converter includes a first resistor(R1), a second resistor(R2), a third resistor(R3), a fourth resistor(R4), a shunt regulator(TL431), and an NPN transistor. The first resistor is connected to a ground(GND) and an R terminal of the shunt regulator in parallel. The second resistor is connected between a controller input source(VCC) for driving the boost input-type converter and the R terminal of the shunt regulator. The third resistor is connected between a link capacitor and a K terminal of the shunt regulator. The fourth resistor is connected between the link capacitor and a C terminal of the NPN transistor. An A terminal of the shunt regulator is connected to the ground. The R terminal thereof is connected to the second resistor. The K terminal thereof is connected to a B terminal of the NPN transistor. The C terminal of the NPN transistor is connected to the fourth resistor and an E terminal thereof is connected to a battery source.
