Paste-like dampener, method for its manufacture and its use

The invention relates to a paste-like dampener which is suitable for dampening mechanical and/or acoustic oscillations. The paste-like dampener contains as minimum components a finely divided solid or a finely divided mixture of solids and as liquid phase a silicone oil, polyglycol and/or a saturated, aliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acid ester. When polyglycol or a carboxylic acid ester is used as liquid phase, it is advantageous to use an agent for increasing the interfacial activity (wetting agent) and finely divided magnesium silicates, aluminium silicates and/or finely divided silicon dioxide as viscosity stabilisers, and possibly small additions of an antioxidant as mixture component. The invention furthermore relates to a method of producing the paste-like dampeners and use of the paste-like dampeners in various hydraulically acting shock absorbers and vibration absorbers.
