PURPOSE:To facilitate the disposal of chips by scrapping or the like by a method wherein long strap chips are cut into shorter pieces with chopping edges annexed to the trimming rollers, which cut long chips produced in the trimming process of a spinning work. CONSTITUTION:The marginal part of a blank is cut off into a strap chip 7 by the cooperative action of cutting edges 5a and 5b swellingly formed along the whole peripheral length of the rollers 4 opposing to each other in the trimming rollers 1. After that, said chip 7 is further cut into shorter pieces with a fixed length by the mutual biting action of the chopping edges, which are opposingly and protrudedly provided on the upper end parts of a pair of the rotating rollers 4. |
