PURPOSE:To enable to perform a simultaneous printing in a plural number of colors and increase a printing speed, by a method wherein, in a dot impact printer, a plural number of rows of dot heads is arranged longitudinally, and ink ribbons in a plural number of color rows are fed so that the ink ribbon of each color row is positioned facing and opposite to each head train. CONSTITUTION:A head 7 dot pin rows 13a-13d in 4 longitudinal rows, and colors A, B, C, and D of a 4-color ink ribbon 6 are positioned corresponding to the pin rows 13a-13d, respectively. The ribbon is wound upward from below to a top by means of a ribbon feed mechanism 11, and is housed in a cassette. Each color printing is driven by a driver circuit for corresponding dot pin rows, and is regulated in consideration of a lag of a timing corresponding to the movement of a carriage. |
