PURPOSE:To make the area of a gas introducing port alterable and to enhance reaction efficiency, in a flame type reaction apparatus wherein a particulate material is reacted with reaction gas while being allowed to fall in a reaction tower, by mounting a flow speed control ring to the gas introducing port in a detachable manner. CONSTITUTION:For example, in the preparation of uranium hexafluoride, the uranium tetrafluoride particulate material supplied from an introducing pipe 25 is stirred by a stirring blade 26 and allowed to fall in a reaction tower 20 while dispersed. At the same time, fluorine gas is supplied into an introducing part 23 in the flow rate corresponding to the supply amount of uranium tetrafluoride. This fluorine gas is set to a predetermined flow speed when passing through the introducing port 29 of a flow speed control ring 27 and injected in the reaction tower 20 as a distributed stream to be reacted with the particulate material to form uranium hexafluoride. Further, the flow speed control ring 27 constitutes the introducing port 29 by forming a groove 28 to the inner peripheral surface of said ring. The width and depth of the groove 28 are determined with due regard to the flow speed of the gas flowing in the reaction tower 20. When a reaction condition is altered, the ring 27 is replaced. |
