<p>An installation for the treatment of waste water by the activated sludge process with a first activation tank, associated equipment for intermediate clarification, a second activation tank and associated final clarification equipment, has maximum-loading aeration in the first activation tank equipped for partial elimination of carbon compounds and the second activation tank equipped for oxygen- gasification, the treatment in these tanks being so adjusted with respect to one another that ammonia formed in the second tank effects neutralization of the remaining carbon dioxide produced in the oxygen- gasification tank.</p> |
