<p>PURPOSE:To use a shaft generating device fully without leaving it unused by a method wherein an auxiliary driving machine is separately provided in addition to a variable speed main driving machine and an AC generator switches between the two driving machines. CONSTITUTION:With a variable speed main driving machine 10 on a normal run, an AC generator 12 is connected thereto through a clutch 34. The AC power generated by the AC generator 12 is rectified by a rectifier 14 and is supplied to an inverter 18 through a DC circuit 16. At the same time, a synchrous phase modifier 20 connects a separately excited power source to the inverter 18 for conversion into an AC power which is then supplied to an AC bus through a switch 22. With the variable speed main driving machine 10 running at low speeds or out of operation, the AC generator 12 is connected to an auxiliary driving machine 38 through a clutch 36. Consequently, the shaft generator system including the AC generator 12 can supply without interruption a constant frequency/constant voltage to the AC bus 24.</p> |
