Provided is a rechargeable battery that secures flexibility and improves durability of the pouch by enabling a pouch to accommodate a length change occurring in an electrode assembly when bending stress acts on the stacked electrode assembly. The rechargeable battery, in an embodiment of the present invention, includes an electrode assembly in which a first electrode, a separate, and a second electrode are stacked on top of each other and then immobilized by a fixing unit at a side; a case which has flexibility and accommodates the electrode assembly, and the pressure of which is adjusted after the case is sealed; a margin portion which is defined between a free end of the electrode assembly and an inner surface of the case; and a separation portion which is a gap smaller than a cell thickness (t1) at the margin portion, defined between the cases and accommodates a portion of the free end of the electrode assembly, which changes in length. |
