PURPOSE:To make direction production of zinc in a wire form which is not possible heretofore by a low-cost process by dropping molten zinc controlled to a prescribed temp. into water kept at about an ordinary temp. through a nozzle. CONSTITUTION:The molten zinc adjusted to 480-570 deg.C, more particularly 520-550 deg.C in a molten zinc receiving tank is dropped from the release nozzle for dropping provided in the bottom of said receiving tank into the water below the receiving tank. The molten zinc in this case is dropped through the nozzle having 0.2-5mmphi diameter into the water kept at 10-30 deg.C, more preferably 15-25 deg.C. The zinc in the wire form of 0.2-3mmphi having 3-7cm or slightly larger length is thereby obtd. Electrolytic zinc, purest zinc, etc., having >=99.99% purity are used as the molten zinc. The molten zinc contg. 50-500ppm >=1 kinds among Fe, Ni, Sb, Cr, Co and Mn is preferably used in the case of using said zinc as a replenishing source for electroplating.
