<p>PURPOSE:To prepare high-purity aniline, continously, without adding a nucleus- hydrogenation suppressing agent, at one-pass, scarcely necessitating the purification process, by hydrogenating nitrobenzene under specific reaction conditions using a specific catalyst. CONSTITUTION:High purity aniline is prepared by feeding hydrogen gas to a reaction liquid keeping the nitrobenzene concentration in the reaction liquid to <=0.5wt%, in the presence of suspended hydrogenation catalyst obtained by depositing Pd of Pd-Pt to non-porous oleophilic carbon having an oil absorption ratio of >=100, preferably 150-300, using aniline as the reaction solvent. The reaction is carried out at 150-250 deg.C under 3-7atm, essentially in the absence of water, removing the aniline and the by-produced water continuouly from the system in the form of vapor by distillation. The particle size of the above catalyst is preferably 20-60mmu and surface area is 50-100m<2>/g. The concentration of the catalyst in the reaction mixture is preferably 0.2-2.0wt%.</p> |
