PURPOSE:To enable a silver catalyst to be easily and homogeneously mixed by packing a core member with a given pasted mixture prepared by adding a conductive assistant and silver oxide powder to active carbon so as to obtain an air electrode, and immersing the air electrode in a reducing solution so as to make silver to be deposited over the surface of the air electrode. CONSTITUTION:Active carbon used as an oxygen-support catalyst is mixed with silver oxide powder and a conductive assistant such as graphite. Next, the mixture powder is added with an emulsified water-repellent binder so as to obtain a pasted or slurry-like mixture. After that, thus obtained mixture is packed into a core member so as to make an air electrode, and the air electrode is immeresed in a reducing solution so as to make activated silver to be deposited over the surface of the air electrode. Here, the content of the above silver oxide powder is preferred to be 5-10wt% of the above mixture powder. In addition, it is preferable that the solid amount of the water-repellent binder added to the mixture is 10-40wt% of the amount of the above mixture powder. |
