The purpose of the present invention is to provide a tuning fork type vibrator which can increase equivalent series resistance properties. The tuning fork type vibrator of the present invention comprises: a vibrating arm having one or more grooves extended in a first direction; and an excited electrode for providing driving force necessary for vibrating the vibrating arm. The groove has a cross sectional shape to be thinner to a second position from a first position. The depth of the groove in the second position is greater than or equal to 30% of the same in the first position.
