PURPOSE:To attenuate a knocking sound generated between a pad and a mounting bracket upon operating the brake during running backward by a method wherein a shock attenuating piece is interposed between the pad and the mounting bracket. CONSTITUTION:The pad 2 for a brake lining, having the lining 3 at the front surface thereof and a shim 4 at the rear surface thereof, is provided with recessed parts 5a, 5b at both of the ends of the revolving directions of a disc rotor 1 while the pad 2 is urged to the revolving direction A and the direction of the revolving center of the disc rotor 1 by an elastic clip 7. The shock attenuating piece 8 is interposed in the recessed part 5b located at the outlet side of the revolving direction B of the disc rotor, which is the direction of the rotor while a vehicle is running backward, between the mounting bracket 6b and is formed by press works so as to be integral with the shim 4 and to have a substantially ?-shape along the recessed part 5b. |
