PURPOSE:To permit igniting operation in the initial period of ignition to be operated safely and surely, by a method wherein a pair of igniting electrodes is provided above the flame port surface of a main burner so that mixture, injected from a pilot burner, crossed the ignition electrodes. CONSTITUTION:When an ignition button 17 is pushed by hand, a thermo-valve 1 is pushed and a main valve 22 is opened simultaneously while a control circuit 19, having a discharging and instantaneously attracting circuit, is operated and an electric discharge is started between the electrodes 2, 3 of an ignition plug 10 provided on the surface of the flame ports 7a of a main burner 7. Then, the mixture of gas and air, which is being injected from a pilot burner 8, flows so as to cross sparks being discharged within the pair of electrodes 2, 3. The mixture, which crossed the sparks between the electrodes 2, 3, is ignited and a flame is formed on a pilot burner 8. Accordingly, an igniting operation in the initial period of ignition may be effected safely and surely. |
