PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chewing gum base comprising a solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber with improved masticatory properties.SOLUTION: A chewing gum base comprises a solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) having a glass transition temperature Tg ranging from -20°C to 0°C in place of SBR made by an emulsion process. A chewing gum base comprises a solution polymerized SBR, which has a bound styrene of 25 to 55 wt.% and a vinyl content of 25 to 60 wt.% based on the total weight of the styrene and butadiene units, and preferably contains a bound styrene of 30 to 40 wt.% and a vinyl content of 35 to 45 wt.%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
