The invention proposes a window profile made of plastic, preferably a glass strip which consists of a main body and a catch foot which are interconnected via a hinge, it being possible for the glass strip to be manufactured as a whole using the extrusion method and for the hinge to consist of a corresponding reduction in wall thickness in relation to the profile body. By using the proposed glass strip, the mounting of windows made of plastic profiles is easier. The main body of the glass strip can be pivoted towards the glass pane together with the seal, the catch foot being supported with an extension in the main body of the profile. The catch connection between main body and catch foot of the glass strip is releasable in order for example to be able to open the glass strip again in the event of damage, so that the glass can be removed from the window profile. The glass strip can subsequently be re-used. The time expended for the mounting of a pane can be reduced with the subject of the invention, it being of particular importance that the seals i.e. glazing seals can already be drawn in or rolled in before mounting.
