A continuously operating machine for forming fillered bead core assemblies (11) comprises a filler applicator (18) where the bead core (32) and an endless length of filler material (25) in cylindrical form are disposed adjacent to one another, the filler material subsequently being rotated outwardly to lie radially outside the bead core. The filler applicator (18) can be a two-station (140, 140') device or (see Figure 5) a four-station device. The machine can include a station extruding filler material, and a station cutting a length of the extruded filler material sufficient to form said endless length in cylindrical form.
