PURPOSE:To make it possible to repair easily by applying paint at places where pin holes and other defects are made on a metallic vacuum evaporation layer by forming a light shielding section by forming the metallic vacuum evaporation layer on the outer surface of a scintilator and providing a paint layer on the outer surface. CONSTITUTION:In a scintillation detector that consists of a scintilator 11 that converts into light the radiation energy that is shot to a surface to be detected and a photo-multiplier 12 and so on, a metallic vacuum evaporation layer 14 is formed on the surface to shield light so that the scintilator will not be influenced by unnecessary light, and at the same time a paint layer 21 is formed further on the metallic vacuum evaporation layer 14. By this layer pin holes 33 in the metallic vacuum evaporation layer 14 are naturally filled by the paint of the paint layer 21 that flows into them, and the outside light 31 is shielded for sure. On the other hand the light 32 that is generated in the scintilator 11 is reflected by the metallic vacuum evaporation layer 14 and led efficiently to the photo- multiplier 12. |
